(Review of Welcome To Humans, Version 3.0 by Mark Changizi)
The author argues that the leap from Human 2.0 to 3.0 will not be thanks to more powerful computers, AI, brain-chip, etc. but to technologies that harness our current brain, the same way writing, speech (and music according to the author) changed us from 1.0 to 2.0.
It is called neuronal recycling (coined by neuroscientist Stanislas Dehaene).
Harnessing vision for computation is an example of neuronal recycling made by the same author (Mark Changizi). It is a much more creative example than "icons" for graphical interface.
